Friday June 13, the last day of school!!

Here we are...this has been a fun and busy year, full of learning.

Here are some favorite things about second grade or ideas learned during second grade:

"It was fun coming in on the first day and making new friends."  Drew
"I loved using the iPad to help my education...and I loved my teacher Mrs. Robb."  Thomas
"I learned the Pledge of Allegiance and how to subtract huge numbers and the food we made at school was always delicious!" Layton

"I learned many things, but most of all I learned that Mrs. Robb is the best teacher in the school (sshh, quiet, don't tell anyone)" Lauren
"I giggled when the new principal Mr. Goldstein read a book to us...I especially loved writing." Norah
"I liked writing and reading jobs of the week, but most of all I really liked my teacher..." Hensley
I liked when Mrs. Robb reads to the class and singing the National Anthem every Monday." Evalyn

Today we watched a movie called "Meet the Robinsons", a movie about science, learning, family, and never giving up...

There was also time travel, bowler hats, and a talking frog...
Later, we watched a great magic show by Bob Eaton,
clapped out the fifth graders,
then enjoyed a time signing each others' art books:

As the year comes to a close, I want to leave you with this quote from the movie we saw today:

“Around here, however, we don't look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious...and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.” Walt Disney

As we end second grade and you move on to third grade, here is a little advice:  stay curious, do at least one act of kindness everyday, listen to your parents and teachers AND

Keep moving forward!
